Paul begins his letter to the Colossians with encouraging expressions of gratitude to these saints for their faith and love. He goes further to express prayers for their growth in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that they may walk worthy and bear fruit. This letter calls for growth because the threat of being deceived and led astray is real and strong.
Jesus must remain your anchor and source of truth. Do not be led astray. Rather, look to heavenly things by putting away sin and adopting heavenly attitudes.
